Many families in our part of Sri Lanka depend mostly on one bread winner. Most of them do not have a permanent employment; hence became vulnerable during the shout down in this period. Immediate assistance was needed. We provided dry food rations to about 5,000 low-income families in the North-East, supplied medical equipment worth 750000 LKR to hospitals in the East. The distribution of thee ration would not have been possible without the help of our friends, collaborators on the field. many worked very hard on a volunteer basis to bring this project to success.
