Part of our Women Empowering Program
Our Society recognises the potential and strength that women possess. Through various empowering projects, we have witnessed the remarkable contributions made by women, who are strong pillars of our society. They have proven their reliability, eagerness to learn, desire to be self-sufficient and stand on their own feet.

Weaving Training – Batticaloa.
The Weaving Training Program, held in Batticaloa town, has helped master this skill and improve their livelihoods. Through well conducted training and mentorship, these women have been transformed from learners into skilled artisans.
Weaving provides these women with a sustainable source of income. The products they create, such as vibrant textiles and intricate patterns as shown in the picture, are sought after. By focusing on producing high-quality items, these women have not only secured a stable income but have gained confidence, mastering traditional weaving techniques.
Here is another idea for the OS members.
Can we help them market these items to the Sri Lankan diaspora?
In conclusion, The Weaving Training Program in Batticaloa stands as an example of women’s empowerment. It showcases how investing in women’s skills and providing them with opportunities can lead to profound societal transformation. Through projects like these, we are not only empowering individuals but also building a stronger families and more inclusive society for all.
