Important Facts About Our Medical Camps: A Comprehensive Approach to Community Welfare
In the pursuit of providing health care and addressing various social issues, the “Our Society” has successfully conducted 28 Medical Camps since 2018. These camps, held in different border villages, have not only focused on medical treatment but have also encompassed a wide range of topics such as child welfare, drugs, child abuse, livelihood, and more. With a diverse team of resource personnel including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, teachers, and other experts, these camps aim to target the society as a whole, including children and youth. This article sheds light on the distinctive aspects of our Medical Camps and their impact on the community. This year we have conducted 4 successful medical camps.
Comprehensive Approach:
“Our Society” Medical Camps go beyond providing medical treatment. The camps serve as platforms for delivering informative talks and workshops on various crucial subjects relevant to the community. By addressing topics such as health, child welfare, drugs, child abuse and other matters of interest, the camps aim to raise awareness and empower individuals with knowledge to make informed decisions.
Community Engagement and Volunteerism:
“Our Society” Medical Camps prioritize community engagement and participation. The camps begin with a thorough needs assessment to identify the specific requirements of the community. Once the needs are identified, necessary projects are initiated, involving volunteers from the same community. This not only ensures a sense of ownership but also fosters a spirit of volunteerism and active participation among the locals. For instance, an unemployed advanced-level qualified student may serve as a volunteer teacher in a primary school, receiving a small remuneration from OS. This approach not only addresses community needs but also promotes local capacity building and empowerment.
