Your commitment to shedding light on the root cause of regional development, namely education, resonates strongly with our belief that education is a fundamental right for all people. The unequal distribution of resources, particularly human resources, has been a significant obstacle in our region, directly impacting the academic achievements of students.
We acknowledge the historical evidence that outstanding achievers often emerge from rural parts of the country, and we recognize the unique challenges faced by regions such as the East, which has been heavily affected by both civil unrest and natural disasters.
The intervention of Our Society is not only timely but crucial, as it aligns with the profound words of Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” We commend the efforts of your volunteers who, through their commitment and involvement, are bridging the educational gap in the Eastern part of Sri Lanka, both through local and global networks.
